Overview
Memo AI is a journaling app that uses AI to transform everyday reflections into personalized visual stories. Users can document their emotions and daily life in a conversational format, with AI generating relevant images and insights. The app’s unique blend of AI-driven features and creative design helps users track and reflect on their lives in a deeply personal and engaging way.
I led the entire process of functional innovation and UI/UX design as well as AI prompt traning.
Memo AI aims to help users not only record their thoughts but also explore their emotional journey, fostering personal growth, creativity, and emotional connection through automated visual storytelling and innovative UI/UX design.
Outcome.
Creating an AI Image
Momo AI’s journaling flow lets users write their diaries & thoughts, which the AI transforms into personalized images. If the generated image doesn’t meet their expectations, users can request a re-generation.
Various History Views
I designed various history views, including a calendar perspective where each day is color-coded based on mood analysis from journal entries. Different colors represent different emotional states which makes it easy for users to visually track and reflect on their emotional patterns over time.
Mood Chart & Reflections
The Explore feature includes a Mood Chart, visually designed to track emotional trends over time with intuitive, dynamic graphs. It helps users see shifts in mood patterns at a glance. I also designed Fun Statistics, providing users with a playful, yet meaningful, way to reflect on their emotional journey and personal growth.
Introductory Screens
I designed onboarding screens to be a gentle tour of the app’s features. I focused on making each step intuitive and visually engaging—showcasing AI journaling, and personalized image creation in a way that feels easy and exciting. The goal was to help users feel instantly connected and ready to explore their own stories with confidence.
My Learnings.
Working on Memo AI was an exciting and innovative experience. I collaborated closely not only with front-end developers but also with the AI lead, gaining valuable insights into both areas. I actively participated in crafting AI prompts to ensure the generated results aligned perfectly with our vision, balancing creative design with technical precision. This hands-on approach deepened my understanding of AI integration in user experiences.
